When booking an appointment, I was offered the opportunity to join their Priority Plus membership with one of the benefits being no "trip charges" for the duration of my membership. I asked for a technician to come out and examine my unit for the costs for either repair or replacement of the system. I had done some diagnostic work myself and the technician only needed to spend about 5 minutes confirming what I suspected and then went to their van to put together a quote. The quotes presented seemed quite high and the work could not be completed over the weekend due to parts availability so I wanted some time to review the proposal as it was quite a bit more than I was expecting to spend. Seeing that I would not be making a decision immediately, the technician informed me that I would receive an $82 charge for the visit. I paid the fee but I am very dissatisfied with the lack of clarity of the program that I signed up for. I used a Service Experts competitor(Top Tec) for my water heater replacement last year and they did charge a $79 fee for coming to the house to diagnose the problem but this was very clearly stated and communicated. I find it very misleading when a program provides no trip charges and then I am assessed a charge for a technician making a trip. I hope that this review will provide feedback so that the communication for this process can be more clear for future potential clients. I did have Top Tec come out to provide a second opinion since I was not satisfied with my interaction and frankly, did not want to do business with Service Experts. They came out for a free estimate and provided a quote for a comparable replacement for considerably less than Service Experts(80% efficient 2 stage furnace, power humidifier, HEPA filter, new thermostat, etc). It seems like the estimate of $9000 from Service Experts was quite high as well and the competing quote was more than 40% more competitive. Based on this interaction, it is unlikely that I will be working with your organization moving forward and will not recommend your business to my friends and family. Hopefully these misleading business practices will improve. I wanted to be very fair with my ratings and there is room to improve."

He wore his mask over his neck, not face, and I had mine on the whole time in my own house. In front of me he was rude to the dispatcher who called him and on speaker I heard her expalining that if he is overwhelmed from all his calls he needs to let his manager know. Lastly, my doorbell rang at 6:30am the next moning, I was aleep but my kid woke up and looked out the window and said someone with heating/ air conditioning unifrom was at door. Then they left. Not sure if that was you, don't know who else it would be? But that was unschedled and woke up my 3 out of town guests- just not sure who it was. Again, this is one negative experience in my 13 years with you all, so I can certainly over look it!"

beth W. evanston, illinois January 06, 2021 "2 answers; the friendly go-between people taking the service call did not communicate well with me or the technician; a visit scheduled for 12/31 did not happen (for a good reason; the technician's wife had to go to the ER), but the go-between people kept happily assuring me that the technician would still be here, 6 HOURS after it was scheduled - it wasn't until I talked to the technician directly that I got a straight answer; I was fine with rescheduling. When I rescheduled, I was told someone would come between 8 and 10 am on Jan. 2nd; I did not receive a confirmation email. so I called at 8:30 am and learned that I was not on the dispatcher's list; FORTUNATELY, the go-between who answered my call on 2 January got me on the list (thank you) and Roy arrived. Roy was WONDERFUL. I would rate him a 10 for his service. When I scheduled the appt, I explained the reason for the service call, and this apparently was NEVER passed on to the technicians. I have to conclude that communication between the Comfort Master folks taking service calls and Comfort Master technicians is very poor, and made it quite frustrating for me. I first made the service call on 30 Dec and finally received service on 2 Jan -- so much for 24/7 service. I blame poor communication within the company for this."

He did say the humidifier wasnt working, but si ce he wanted to charge over $100 to do that - I suggested it might ophavd happened when the last crew replaced the air conditioner and installed a tankless heater. Since that group left exposed electrical wires it is possible they failed to reconnect the humidifier as well."

I noticed it was past due for maintenance service. I figured since Comfort Masters was familiar with my equipment. So, I decided to stick with the same vendor. In September, I called and scheduled this maintenance service. The service was scheduled in early October. I was very pleased with the service provided for that initial appointment. Harris was professional, thorough, and gave me his recommendations for my HVAC. I agreed to 2 of the 3 recommendations and enrolled in your membership program. Harris said someone would be reaching out to me to reschedule for the upgrades. No one reached out to me for 2 weeks so I called your customer service number. I gave the person all the info on my service receipt for reference, and informed them of the situation. I was told they would make sure my equipment would be ordered and someone would be reaching out to me. I went through this process 5 times trying to schedule this service since mid October. It is now December, and we finally got everything installed. Again, Im very happy with the technicians services. I am very dissatisfied with your customer service department. Customers should not have to hound a company to provide services. Had I not already had the initial service I would have given up after your companys first lie/failure. I will never recommend your company to anyone, and Ill share my experience with anyone that is looking for an HVAC service."
