Why is my AC making a clicking noise?

June 25, 2019

Clicking can be an dubious sound to hear from your air conditioning unit. It could imply that a part is loose and is hitting another part within the system or it could mean that the fan is brushing up against something as it’s in motion.

A clicking sound can be notably concerning because it could also indicate a serious issue with your air conditioner’s electrical connection. If your air conditioner clicks once when it turns on, that’s considered normal. However, repeated clicking is indicative of a problem.

And if there is an issue with the control panel, faulty electrical signals produce clicking noises with minuscule sparks of electricity, as they continually cause switches to turn on and off. If the clicking accompanies sparking, turn the unit off and call the Experts to examine your system right away.
