Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their service vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to raise money for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his employees both lost their mothers to other forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the quantity of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still constitutes a huge number of families who are grappling with this disease, and therefore we have an urgent need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s sentiments. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in the state – for men and women.”
